Holland’s most versatile specialist in concrete
The third millennium starts with the massive Mariënburg project in the city of Nijmegen. Tomaello supplies prefab elements of architectural concrete, 5500 m2 terrazzo, coloured and grey concrete, but also all of the natural stone. The International Council of Shopping Centers awards the Marikenstraat the title “the most beautiful shopping street in Europe”.

The elements crowning one of the large columns lining the square constitute a novelty for Tomaello and Europe. Self Compacting Terrazzo (SCT) is developed to enable the production of these special shapes. This special technique is based on the Japanese technique of self compacting concrete. During the following years the technique of SCT is further improved by Tomaello. The award-winning white Columbarium of cemetery ‘De Nieuwe Ooster’ in Amsterdam has also been manufactured in this revolutionary way.

New polishing machines are purchased, as well as new concrete-mixing machinery according to the latest technology. In order to maintain our high level of quality well into the future, the staff is permanently given further training.
